According to the Daily Telegraph, West Ham are pursuing Chelsea striker Loic Remy, who is valued at £8million.

New West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is believed to be a fan of the former-Marseille striker and is looking to make Remy his first signing for the Irons.

Bench

Last season he French international striker spent much of the campaign on the bench, playing second fiddle to Spanish international striker Diego Costa. Remy made 21 top-flight appearances for the Blues and scored seven goals.

Unlikely

However, it seems that he is now looking for first team football elsewhere. Chelsea look unwilling to let the France international leave just yet, as they have already released veteran striker Didier Drogba this summer.

Allowing Remy to leave as well would mean that Blues would have Costa as their only available striker next season. It seems an unlikely scenario considering Costa picked-up a lot of niggling injuries last season.

Ideal

For Chelsea it is good to have a player of Remy’s quality in reserve, but for the players career it is not. At 28-years-old he needs to be playing first team football. He looks like an ideal signing for most Premier League clubs this summer.

Bilic is likely to be backed in the transfer market by the West Ham hierarchy this summer, as they have ambitious plans for the club.

The Hammers move into the Olympic Stadium for the start of season 2016/17 and will want a good team to go with their illustrious new surroundings.

Would West Ham be a good move for Loic Remy?
