According to Sky Sports, Tottenham are set to launch a £12million bid for Burnley striker Danny Ings and nip in ahead of Premier League rivals for the striker’s signature.

The 23-year-old is leaving the Clarets as a free agent this summer and the Lancashire club would only receive a minimal compensation fee.

However, to prevent other clubs signing the striker this summer it seems Spurs are ready to launch a bid for the striker now.

The likes of Liverpool, Newcastle and even Chelsea have been linked with a move for Ings, who scored 11 goals in his debut Premier League season, but it seems that Spurs are desperate to secure the strikers signature.

Ings has become a Burnley hero in the four years he has represented the club. Last season his goals helped the Clarets to promotion to the top-flight and he has been one of their standout stars this season.

Due to his relative success and the fact that he becomes a free agent, Ings will be one of the most in-demand Premier League players this summer.

He is relatively young for a Premier League striker and has proven he can score goals in the top-flight, even in a team that were relegated and struggled for goals.

Tottenham have England striker Harry Kane in their ranks, but fellow strikers Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor could both leave the north London club this summer, which could leave Spurs light in attack and in need of striking additions this summer.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is looking to bring in bright, hungry players this summer in order to challenge for the top four next season and Danny Ings would fit that bill perfectly.

Can Tottenham sign Danny Ings this summer?
