Former-Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is in talks with an unnamed MLS club, as he looks for the next chapter of his glittering career.

The 37-year-old was released by Premier League champions Chelsea when his short-term contract expired earlier this month.

The veteran striker now looks set to follow in the footsteps of fellow Premier League icons in Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard by moving to the rapidly improving MLS.

Talking about his future Drogba told FCInter1908: “I’m not aware of that situation (with Inter),”

“Inter are a great club, and certainly if they were to contact me I’d gladly listen to their offer, but I’m currently in talks with an MLS club. Inter could be an option if they really are interested in me.”

According to Sky Sports the MLS club in talks with the striker are Chicago Fire, but it seems Italian giants Inter may also be an option for the Ivorian.

Even in the twilight of his career Didier Drogba could be a big addition to any MLS club. The US top-flight is growing and Drogba could pass on his immense experience at the top level of the game to young American players.

Drogba has enjoyed a trophy-laden carer in European football, having won the Champions League and four Premier League titles with the Blues. He is a winner and could be a decent signing for any MLS outfit.

I am sure Didier Drogba would enjoy the challenge of playing in the MLS, as it would be a new experience and he will sure to be a big draw to the crowds.

Will Didier Drogba be plying his trade in the MLS next season?
