According to BBC Sport, Everton are in talks with Dynamo Kiev to sign winger Andriy Yarmolenko in a deal worth around £14.25million.

The Ukrainian international is reported to have a release clause in his contract and the Premier League side look set to meet it.

The BBC claims that Everton officials have headed to Monaco to thrash out a deal with their Ukrainian counterparts, who are notorious for being difficult negotiators.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a string of Premier League clubs in the past, including Everton’s arch-rivals Liverpool, Tottenham and Stoke City. However it looks like it’s Roberto Martinez’s side who are set to make the latest move for the star.

Yarmolenko has been the standout Ukrainian player in the past few seasons and helped Dynamo defeat Everton in the last 16 of the Europa League last season. His pace and direct running was a constant threat to the Toffees backline.

The winger has expressed an interest in playing in the Premier League in the past. Yarmolenko is highly-rated, but has just one year left on his contract with the Ukrainian club and has indicated that he will no sign an extension to his current deal.

A move to Merseyside could prove an ideal one. The Toffees play expansive, passing football under Martinez, but are in need of a quality left-winger.

No doubt Yarmolenko would be a fantastic signing for the Toffees and Everton boss Martinez.

They have been quiet in the transfer market this summer, but this signing would help satisfy the discontent of the fans over the lack of summer movement.

Will Everton sign Andriy Yarmolenko?
