Inter Milan attacking midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri looked set for a move to the Premier League earlier this summer with Stoke.

However, the Switzerland international turned down a £12million move to the Potters.

It now seems that the Swiss international may end up in the Premier League with Everton.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton boss Roberto Martinez is considering a swoop for the former-Bayern midfielder.

Shaqiri only joined Inter in the January transfer window, but now seems surplus to requirements for the Nerazzurri with Inter boss Roberto Mancini looking to reshape his midfield.

Toffees boss Martinez has recently admitted that he is looking for a number ten. Shaqiri fits that bill pretty well. He is highly-rated, but has not quite reached his potential at Bayern or Inter.

The 23-year-old is undoubtedly talented and would no doubt be a good addition to the Toffees squad. The Mail are claiming that the Merseysider’s are ready to make a loan move for the playmaker with a view to a permanent deal next summer.

Everton have been relatively quiet in the transfer market this summer, with the only summer arrivals being midfielder Tom Cleverley and winger Gerard Deulofeu.

The Toffees fans will be looking for their club to add to their squad before the transfer window shuts in January.

Martinez is also believed to be looking for a centre-back and a striker, so the Spaniard could be very busy in the next few weeks attempting to strengthen his squad.

Should Everton make a move for Xherdan Shaqiri?
