Premier League Liverpool have completed the £21million signing of Brazilian international Roberto Firmino from German club Hoffenheim.
The deal is subject to Firmino passing a medical and will also include add-ons which could make the fee closer to £28million.
Versatile
The 23-year-old is very versatile and can play as an attacking midfielder, central striker or on either wing. With the season expected to be a long one for the Reds, his versatility could be a good asset to the team from Merseyside.
Highly-rated
Firmino is a highly-rated young player, who has impressed immensely in his five seasons in the Bundesliga.
Last season from his attacking midfield position the playmaker scored seven goals and collected ten assists. Only two players in the German top-flight could better those statistics last season.
His intelligence on the ball and ability to beat players should have the fans at Anfield on the edge of their seats.
Replacement
It seems that the Brazilian could be the perfect replacement for England starlet Raheem Sterling, who is consistently linked with a move to the Reds North West neighbours Manchester City.
If anything the 23-year-old is probably further along in his development than Sterling and could give the Reds an extra edge to their attack next season.
Masterstroke
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has a poor record in the transfer market so far in his Anfield career. However, for me signing Roberto Firmino could be an absolute masterstroke.
At 23 he has not yet reached his peak and has looked like a very good prospect for Hoffenheim. If he can settle quickly then the Brazilian playmaker could be a fantastic signing for the Reds.
Will Roberto Firmino be a good signing for Liverpool?
