Monaco full-back Fabinho has reportedly caught the eye of Manchester City

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City are interested in £15million rated Monaco full-back Fabinho.

The 21-year-old has spent the last two seasons on –loan in the principality from Portuguese outfit Rio Ave and only joined the Ligue One side on a permanent basis this summer for £4million.

Fabinho who has also had a loan spell at Real Madrid has impressed in his 61 appearances for Monaco and could now be a target for City, who are attempting to rebuild their squad this summer.

Current right-backs Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna are both in their thirties and it seems City are looking for a player to come in and be a long-term option in the position.

As well as playing regularly for Monaco the full-back has also won a cap for the under-20 Brazilian team and two caps at senior level.

City has yet to strengthen their squad despite speculation linking them with a number of players in the media.

One play that does not look likely to be plying his trade at City next season is Belgian playmaker Kevin de Bruyne, after his German club Wolfsburg revealed that they are not interested in selling the midfielder and that they will be offering him a new contract in the near future.

De Bruyne is reported to be one of the Citizens main transfer targets this summer, but it seems they may need to turn their attention elsewhere for new additions.

Would Fabinho be a good signing for Manchester City?
