According to Sky Sports, former-Lyon boss Remi Garde is set to be named as Aston Villa boss on Monday.

The former-Arsenal midfielder is expected to be at White Hart Lane for the Villans clash with Spurs.

Garde left Ligue One side Lyon last summer and is currently on sabbatical from management. The 49-year-old looks set to end that break with a move to the Midlands and Villa.

The French boss will take over a Villans team that is anchored to the bottom of the Premier League table. Villa has picked-up just four points from their 11 league games this season, which lead to the sacking.

Garde did a decent job at Lyon finishing fourth, third and fifth in the French top-flight. He has a major job on his to keep the disbanded group at Villa in the Premier League.

The club from the Midlands brought in 13 new players in the summer and they have struggled to gel together as a unit. The 49-year-old is highly-rated in coaching circles and even Arsene Wenger has vouched for his compatriot.

Garde certainly is a brave man taking on the task at Villa, but if he keeps the Villans in the top-flight then he will have definitely improved his CV.

Will Remi Garde be a success at Aston Villa?
