Wales defeated Cyprus 1-0 last night in Group B of Euro 2016 qualifiers and are now just one win away from qualifying for their first major international tournament since the 1958 World Cup.

The hosts made it tough for the Dragons and Chris Coleman’s side took until the 82nd minute to take the lead. Fulham full-back Jazz Richards produced a superb cross to the far post and Gareth Bale rose highest to head home the only goal of the game.

The goal was the Real Madrid stars sixth goal in seven qualifying games and Wales can secure their place in France by defeating Israel in Cardiff on Sunday to make history by qualifying for a major tournament. A draw could even be enough to for Chris Coleman’s side to qualify.

Rivals Belgium secured a 3-1 home win against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The game had a strong Premier League presence and it was former-Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko who opened the scoring for the visitors.

However, the Red Devils hit back with first half goals from Marouane Fellaini and Kevin De Bruyne. Chelsea star Eden Hazard secured the victory with a penalty kick in the second half.

Marc Wilmots’ side should seal the second automatic qualification spot in the group, as they face a game with Cyprus, before finishing their qualifying campaign against minnows Andorra on 10th October. Two wins will guarantee the Red Devils automatic qualification for France 2016.

Will Wales now seal their place at Euro 2016?
